Welcoming your new Von Zobel Haus German Shepherd Puppy Home

For New Puppy owners:

You’re welcoming a new puppy to your home! Congratulations! Bringing a new German Shepherd puppy into your home is such an exciting and rewarding experience! Here are a few tips to help you get started on the right foot and make the transition smooth for both you and your new furry friend:

  1. Create a Safe and Comfortable Space: Before bringing your puppy home, prepare a designated space where they can feel safe and comfortable. We highly recommend crate training your puppy provide a safe Comfortable crate for your puppy. Never use a crate as punishment.

  2. Puppy-proof the House: Just like with a baby, puppies tend to get into everything! Make sure all dangerous items like electrical cords, cleaning products, or small objects are out of reach. Safety first!

  3. Establish a Routine: Puppies thrive on routine, so try to feed, walk, and play with your German Shepherd at the same times each day. This helps them feel secure and understand what's expected.

  4. Socialization: Start socializing your puppy early by introducing them to different environments, people, and other dogs. This helps prevent fear and aggression as they grow. NEVER LET your puppy interact with Dominating's or aggressive dogs this will have lasting negative effects in your puppy. Always positive interedition and play.

  5. Training: German Shepherds are intelligent and eager to please, so start with basic obedience training as soon as you can. Commands like sit, stay, and come are good places to start. Use positive reinforcement (treats and praise) to encourage good behavior. We recommend connecting with a trainer early on if your new to the German Shepherd Breed.

  6. Exercise: German Shepherds are very active and need plenty of exercise to keep them happy and healthy. Short walks and play sessions will help burn off their energy, but make sure you’re not overdoing it when they’re still young to protect their joints. Avoid lots of stairs and jumping on/off things sure as beds and in/out vehicles at a young age.

  7. Health and Veterinary Care: Make sure to take your puppy to the vet for regular check-ups, vaccinations, and flea/tick prevention.

  8. Bonding Time: Spend quality time with your puppy through play, training, and cuddles. Building a strong bond from the start will lead to a well-behaved and loyal dog.

Enjoy the process of raising your German Shepherd—they’re known for being loyal, intelligent, and protective, and they’ll become an amazing companion for many years!

Toys and Feeding:

We Highly recommend anything KONG BRAND. Chuck it Balls ONLY, NO tennis balls. Bully Sticks, Antlers are great check toys. We HIGHLY recommend BEEF knuckle bones FREEZE these and give to your puppy they are the perfect teether/soother for your German Shepherd puppy.

We recommend including raw in your pup’s diet but in small quantities to avoid stomach upset.

German Shepherd should stay on the leaner side. Its VERY unhealthy for a German Shepherd Puppy/Grown Adult to be over weight.

Dry Kibble recommendations: I always like Fish based best. But its really good to switch up the formulas

FULL Registration vs Limited Registration

How it Works

The American Kennel Club (AKC) offers limited and full registration for dogs. Limited registration is for dogs that are intended to be pets, while full registration is for dogs that may be bred

Limited registration

  • Dogs with limited registration are not intended to be bred

  • They can participate in most AKC competitions, except conformation

  • The offspring of dogs with limited registration cannot be registered

  • Breeders can request limited registration for puppies they don't want used for breeding

  • Limited registration certificates are white with an orange border

Full registration

  • Dogs with full registration may be bred

  • Full registration certificates are white with a purple border

Changing registration status

  • The litter owner can change a dog's registration status from limited to full

  • The owner must:

    1. Obtain an Application to Revoke Limited Status

    2. Complete the form

    3. Send the form and processing fee to the AKC in Raleigh

    4. Wait for the AKC to send a full registration certificate

ALL VON ZOBEL HAUS PUPPIES ARE SOLD AS PUPPIES WITH LIMITED REGISTRATION ONLY

How to upgrade to FULL registration??

This is at the BREEDERS ( Brittany Kersten) discretion if registration will be upgraded to FULL.

First, not all dogs are breeding quality dogs. To get the best and improve the breed we MUST ONLY breed the best.

Requirements to be considered for FULL Registration:

  1. Confirmation must be of breed standard requirements. MUST provide quality pictures to breeder to determine.

  2. Temperament MUST be of quality representation of the Germans Shepherd dog

  3. NO Registration will be upgraded tell the dogs 2nd Birthday

  4. MUST DM Health test. Show proof to Breeder. Carriers are perfectly expectable. Dog owner just need to have the Knowledge that Carriers can ONLY breed with DM Clear mates.

  5. MUST Certify HIPS and Elbows with passing Scores. OFA, SV, PINNHIP are all great. X-Rays are done by a licensed vet ONLY. You simply telling me “ Oh my Vet said my dogs hips are good” DOES NOT COUNT. Must be X-Rayed and sent in for Scores.

  6. MUST PAY breeder $600.00usd. BEFORE papers will be upgraded.

  7. Owner of the dog is Responsible for ALL AKC fees

PLEASE, Talk with the breeder Brittany Kersten. If Breeding your dog is something your interested in doing.
